How it will work
We will select 6-10 different ideas to move through the trial program.
The trial program will be divided into two days;
- Day 1 (December 8th) will focus on building a trusted community, introducing the projects, team members and program guides, and we will start the initial training modules.
- Day 2 (December 9th) will focus on continued training modules, presenting progress to the community, discussing the learning experience as a group and finally gather insights in order to improve future iterations of the capacity development program.
Please note: if your idea was no accepted for this prototype we will let you know before workshop 3 and make sure to consider your idea first for future iterations.

About the initiative:
International organizations, donor agencies, business support organizations, non-governmental and governmental organizations along with commercial entities, startups, nonprofits who are looking to collaborate, grow and benefit from the Blue Economy in the CARICOM region.
Enable all projects related to the Blue Economy to:
1) Become investment or grant ready,
2) Get training on leveraging IP & innovation tools,
3) Get access to key resources, business model development, partners,
4) Join a community of inspiring leaders who are serious about establishing the Blue Economy,
5) Creatively collaborate with projects in other industries.
Our vision is to create a self-sustaining and culturally relevant innovation hub co-designed by practitioners actively working in the CARICOM region to achieve the desired outcomes as stated above.
- Blue Economy community is fragmented.
- Finding the right people and organizations to collaborate with.
- Uncovering the right cultural and societal structure to make the hub accessible and self sustaining.
We will be using design thinking methodologies of empathy, ideation, consolidation, testing and prototyping to develop the societal and cultural structure for the hub while cultivating a culture of innovation and connecting the community to the endless possibilities the region has to offer.
